Waterlogging-Induced Chlorosis in Tomato

In some fields, inadequate land leveling leads to water accumulation at the base of the plant for prolonged periods. This condition (poor drainage) causes the young leaves to develop chlorosis, beginning from the petiole.

This physiological disorder is sometimes misidentified in certain regions as manganese or zinc deficiency. Pay attention to the water accumulation at the tip of the arrow.
